Between Crypto.com Arena and Peacock Theater—and adjacent to the convention center, Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, restaurants, shops, bowling alley, cinema, and museum—sits a six-lane, 1/3 mile long vehicular thoroughfare. The design agenda closes this road to vehicular traffic, eliminating the street and adjacent curbs and sidewalks. The result transforms the existing conditions into a grand pedestrian plaza of over three acres.

Our ten media towers (three at 58’ tall and seven at 37’)—blend architecture, sculpture, art, technology, and urban design. Infilled with expanded metal mesh, the twisting box trusses provide visual curiosity, experiential interest, and structural resistance. Diagonally staggered, the towers flank this new Chick Heart Court at L.A. LIVE. The three taller towers—each with a pair of 13’ by 23’ curved digital screens—frame the most active area of the plaza, a space that greets the 20,000 attendees for a Lakers’/Kings’ game or music concert.
