Rather than design a single building with parking in front and playfields in back, we explore the school’s mission statement of “Learning in Action” by dispersing an interweaving the program across the entire site. The site design intermingles outdoor with indoor, athletics with classrooms, classrooms with administration, play areas with gardens, multipurpose building with outdoor stage, and so on. The dynamic folding roofs visually and experientially express the “Learning in Action” theme. The undulating roof overhangs create an ever-changing, dynamic journey—symbolic of the path of learning.
