The six completed projects, ranging from 2,000 to 7,000 square feet, explores an eclectic, whimsical and rich composition of materials, finishes, and forms, akin to the chef’s craft. Artistic results include chandeliers made from 1,600 wood clothespins on a wire frame, owner’s quotes water jet cut out of blackened metal panels, chalk board walls with a vintage meat scale, vaudeville lit signage, vintage-style stamped metal panels and ceiling fans, a tree growing out of the community table of walnut and industrial piping, and walls of artificial grass that mold into the bench delivering an unique modern day picnic.

For a creative integrated vision, the work of Poon Design also included furniture design, branding and website design. The Marina Del Rey location was awarded the 2011 International Design Award for Best Restaurant from The American Institute of Architects.
